October 7th, 3 Years Later.

Today is the day that has been etched in the memory of (almost) all Israelis. Thoughts take us back to that fateful day: where we were, what we were doing, and how news of the tragedy and atrocities we suffered reached us.

The IDF has reported that 970 soldiers have fallen in operational circumstances during the war since October 7, 2023. In addition, 70% of soldiers wounded in the war have returned to duty.

The IDF struck approximately 100,000 targets on the various fronts:

·        65,000 in the Gaza Strip

·        28,000 in Lebanon and Syria

·        4,500 in Iran

·        80 in Yemen

More than 31,000 rockets were fired at the State of Israel: approximately 10,200 from the Gaza Strip, 20,000 from Lebanon, 1,200 from Iran, 50 from Syria and 90 from Yemen.

As we mourn our fallen soldiers and civilians on this Day of Remembrance, the useful idiots of our enemies march in many places around the world to "celebrate" what is presented as a "victory" over Israel. Governments around the world allow these anti-Israel demonstrations to take place, in a great show of cowardice.

After three years, peace is still far, far away. Israelis have every reason in the world to seriously doubt the plans, conceived in the United States, to bring peace to Israel's southern and northern borders.

Both Gaza and Lebanon continue to have deep-rooted, Iranian-backed terrorist armies deployed against Israel. No one has yet met an Islamist truly willing to give up his weapons.

Hamas is supposed to be stripped of its weapons and Gaza is supposed to be demilitarized by an "International Stabilization Force" (ISF), made up of Moroccan, Albanian, and other troops. The Hamas government is supposed to be replaced by a neutral (non-Hamas) "technocratic government." Members of this government and its "new" police force will have to be "vetted" for their peaceful intentions. This is pure fantasy.

In Lebanon, Hezbollah will also, hypothetically, be "dismantled" or driven out of southern Lebanon by the weak army known as the "Lebanese Armed Forces," infiltrated by Hezbollah. This near-fictitious force, overseen by international observers from the United States and reportedly also from Italy, Switzerland, and Indonesia, will be tasked with "verifying" Hezbollah's disarmament and demise.

On paper, all this is wonderful! But both Hamas and Hezbollah categorically deny that they will disarm, and they have certainly not abandoned their stated ideological commitments. Their founding charters remain unchanged. The goal remains the destruction of the State of Israel.
