The Truth about the Beduins in the Negev

A myth speaks of the existence of only 45 villages where tens of thousands of Bedouin live. Their present tactic is to claim that the Negev is a huge territory and “all we are talking about is the recognition of only 45 villages,” as stated in a position paper circulated by the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI), Bimkom, and the Council of the Unrecognized Villages, which claims that the institutional recognition and legal organization of these “45 villages” would solve the prolonged dispute between the Bedouin and the State of Israel:

“The Goldberg Commission has recognized that the main solution to the arrangement of Bedouin settlement is recognition of unrecognized villages, in order to prevent the deterioration of an already intolerable situation and to bring about an historic solution to the dispute. This is the central principle that stands at the heart of any solution, and we must follow it in order to bring about an agreement. As will be detailed below, this principle can be applied to every unrecognized village in the Negev.”6

The Bedouin connect this claim to 45 points on the map of the Negev (See the 45 blue dotes on the map published by the Council of Unrecognized Bedouin villages in the Negev).

What they neglect to tell us is that these points are attached to thousands of clusters of structures spread all across the Northern Negev, in the area between Beersheva, Arad and Dimona, creating one large contiguous territory of illegal Bedouin villages.

Obstacles To Peace In The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

Israel's WATER Surplus, First in The Region - https://tinyurl.com/ytv7x3x6

I don’t believe in the word narrative. I believe in facts. The Jewish claim to this country is based on facts, while the Palestinian claim is based on lies. There is no such thing as a narrative— there is truths vs. lies, falsification of history and creation of a new people which had no existence until the mid-1900s. The British Mandate revived the name Palestine, which was given to this country by Hadrian, the Roman Emperor in the second century in order to denigrate Jews who rebelled against him in 136 CE. In order to punish them, he named it according to their enemy, the Philistines, who were not Arabs. They were Greek. Meanwhile, this name was almost abandoned. The British renewed it when they came here and established the Mandate of Palestine in 1923. So, Arabs who lived here adopted this epithet of Palestinians because of this mandate.

Arabs who lived in the Land of Israel (between the Jordan river and the Mediterranean Sea) have never referred to themselves as Palestinians. Between 1517 and 1917 they were Ottoman citizens of Arab ethnicity, and the area was called Sham, or Greater Syria, including what today is Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Israel. The British and French divided the area to states artificially, but none of these states created a nation. Ethnically, all the citizens of these states are Arabs.

In Jordan, because people who lived in cities and villages didn’t want to associate with the Kingdom of Jordan, they continued to call themselves Palestinians. This is one of the reasons why 80% of Jordanians still call themselves Palestinians. To be called Jordanian means that you are a Bedouin, and for them it is some kind of insult to be viewed as a Bedouin.

With regards to the “Palestinians” being indigenous, for many, their names testify that they are not indigenous. There is a big family in Qalqilya named al-Horani. This means they came from Horan, which is an area in present day Syria. Within Israel there is al-Masri (Egyptian). There are many other names that testify that they are not originally from here.

The ones who were here for longer can have the Emirates in their family name. But look, not every group has a state in the world. Many democratic states have minorities, and in some states minorities have autonomy. How much autonomy varies from place to place. The Arab emirates are emulating the same paradigm as the minorities of almost every state in the world. Therefore, the situation of Palestinians living in Israel is similar to the many other countries in the world that have minority groups living in them.

Zionism is the Jewish national movement. Most other nations in the world have a national movement and it is as legitimate as every other national movement. Those who deny the right of the Jews to be a nation and to have a state on their ancient soil are Jew haters because they want to deny Jews a right from which they would give to any other nation in the world.

In summary, many Muslims—Palestinians and others—do not want Israel to exist altogether, and do whatever they can in order to hurt it. Unfortunately, there are some people who sympathize with this Arab/Muslim desire and take part in acts against Israel in various arenas, including the academic, political and public.

From Iran, With Love ?

Video Of The Week - “Who is The Islamic Jihad” ? https://tinyurl.com/2vsd7haa

Following the August 5-7, 2022 military conflict between the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and Israel, criticism was voiced in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, appearing in both the press and social media. Critics claimed, inter alia, that PIJ is an Iranian proxy organization operating in Iranian interests and thus inflicting suffering on the Gaza Strip residents, and that the conflict erupted because of Iran's desire to accelerate the nuclear negotiations in Vienna. One writer criticized the launch of Iranian missiles from within the Gaza Strip's civilian population.

Elements in Saudi Arabia and the UAE also mocked the statements in recent days by commanders of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in which they warned that Israel would pay a heavy price for its crimes in Gaza and that Hizbullah would land a heavy blow on Israel when the tine was right. They asked why Iran was not making good on its threats at a time when Israel was attacking Gaza.

This report reviews the Saudi and UAE criticism of PIJ and mockery of the Iranian threats.

Senior Saudi Journalist: The PIJ Is An Iranian Proxy Being Used By Iran To Set The Vienna Negotiations In Motio

On August 6, 2022, the senior Saudi journalist 'Abd Al-Rahman Al-Rashed, former editor of the Saudi daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat and director-general of Al-Arabiya TV, tweeted: "The compass of events [is as follows]: The Gaza residents always pay the price. But how should the battle be understood? It depends whose side you are on – [are you] for or against Iran? [Palestinian] Islamic Jihad is an Iranian proxy organization, just like Hizbullah, [the Iraqi-Shi'ite] Asaib [Ahl] Al-Haq, and the Houthis [in Yemen]. Palestine is not their concern.

"Tehran wanted to set the Vienna negotiations over the Iranian nuclear project in motion, so Hizbullah attacked the [Karish natural gas field] with its UAVs, and [Palestinian Islamic] Jihad fired its missiles." [1]

Saudi Intellectual: "The Palestinian Cause Has Become A Bargaining Chip In The Hands Of.. The [Iranian] Ayatollah Regime"

Saudi intellectual Turki Al-Hamad tweeted: "It is apparent that if at one time any confrontation between Israel and the Palestinian organizations would attract world and Arab attention and provoke a wave of anger [against Israel], today this does not shock most Arabs and most of the world's [countries]. Furthermore, even a sense of human solidarity [with the Palestinians] has become rare and embarrassing, raising the question, Why [is this so] and who is to blame?

"Is it because the [Palestinian] side [leading] the confrontation here is an extremist Islamist organization whose activity is subordinate to orders from Iran, which is seeking to reap diplomatic gains [in the nuclear negotiations] in Vienna[?] Or is it because this is an outcome of the Palestinian leaders' cumulative failures throughout history in dealing with the Palestinian cause? Or are all the answers correct?

"I believe that the main reason is the lack of confidence in all the Palestinian leaders and their manipulation of [the Palestinian] cause. From the Arabs' and the world's perspective, it is already clear that these leaders are manipulating the [Palestinian] cause out of self-interest and diplomatic, economic, or even personal motivates, and that the Palestinian issue is completely unconnected to this. The Palestinian cause has become a bargaining chip in the hands of these and other organizations and states headed by the [Iranian] ayatollah regime." [2]

Bahraini Journalist: The PIJ-Launched Missile That Misfired And Killed The Children In Jabalya Was An Iranian Missile

UK-based Bahraini commentator and journalist Amjad Taha tweeted that he blames the PIJ for the deaths of three children in Gaza; the tweet included a video clip circulated on social media showing the misfiring of the missile aimed at Israel from the Jabalya neighborhood. He wrote: "We condemn and sharply criticize the missile fire by the terrorists of the [Palestinian Islamic] Jihad movement... The video below clearly [shows] how the launch of an Iranian missile by the [Palestinian] Islamic Jihad movement failed. The missile fell to the ground and as a result the massacre occurred in Jabalya, and the children were martyred..." [3]

UAE Daily: Iran Doesn't Want To Directly Confront Israel – So "Gaza Is The Sole Outlet For An Iranian Response"

In a lengthy front-page report on August 7, the London-based UAE daily Al-Arab criticized the PIJ in a front page story on August 7, 2022, writing that "Gaza again became an arena for the settling of accounts between Iran and Israel, when the Palestinian citizens are the ones paying the price." It added that Iran does not want directly confront Israel for its bombings in Syria and its attacks on Iranian scientists and nuclear facilities, and thus "Gaza is the sole outlet for an Iranian response." The report quoted Palestinian sources who claimed that the PIJ, the Palestinian faction closest to Iran and influenced by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini's Islamic Revolution in Iran, "prioritizes the Iranian agenda at the expense of the Gaza [residents'] suffering." IDF Exposes vast Hamas Network under Civilian Infrastructure

Video Of The Week- Hamas Terrorist Tunnel Route - https://tinyurl.com/2p82hbyp

If the tunnels collapse, hospitals, mosques, universities, or factories will also collapse with them, the IDF warned.

The IDF exposed a vast network of tunnels, essentially an underground city, dug by the Hamas terror organization under crucial civilian infrastructure, while warning that these buildings are at risk if the terror organization attacks Israel.

Hamas’ use of civilian settings for its weapons warehouses and training bases has been known for over a decade, as well as its use of human shields, in contravention of all international conventions.

What the IDF revealed on Wednesday are underground networks that were built within the various neighborhoods in the Strip.

The tunnels pass under buildings necessary for civilian life, with Hamas knowing that Israel’s attacks on these military targets would be very problematic.

If the tunnels collapse, hospitals, mosques, universities, or factories will also collapse with them, the IDF warned.

A recent example is the underground terror tunnel dug by Hamas in the Tufah neighborhood in Gaza City. The tunnel is used for the storage of explosives and for the movement of Hamas terrorists, and is located near the “Pepsi” factory operating under a franchise, and the UNRWA-run “Draaj” elementary school, which is used in times of emergency as a declared shelter for 2,500 people.

Also, a weapons cache and the entrance to a terrorist tunnel shaft were located in the homes of two of the organization’s operatives. The first is Mahmoud Salah Muhammad Abu Ali, an operative in Hamas’ production system, who has a weapons storage facility on the roof of his house.

The IDF noted that it’s not just his house that he is endangering – the house is surrounded by other residences and is located next to the UNRA clinic, which is across the road and provides medical care to about 15,000 people.

The second activist is Amer Awni Muhaisen, a Hamas commander in charge of training in the Al-Shujaiya Brigade, whose house has an entrance to a terror tunnel shaft dug 60 meters away from a school with about 20 classes and which is used as a shelter for refugees during an emergency, and 30 meters away from a mosque.

Another tunnel passes near the main ambulance center in Gaza, which includes 14 ambulances.

“The locations where these infrastructures were discovered present a difficult and sad picture, where exploitation and inhumanity are a course of action,” the IDF stated. “The enemy hides under the noses of innocent people the infrastructure for the next war, thus putting them, against their will, at the front of the next campaign.”

The Israeli military shared that commanders from all the IDF units in the sector are faced with significant dilemmas because of the complex situation.

“They operate with the knowledge that if they do not act – those places will be used for terrorism. This is how the surgical and pinpoint strikes that the IDF is known for were created,” the IDF explained.

Defense Minister Benny Gantz toured Israel’s southern border on Wednesday and visited the IDF’s Gaza division. He stated that the IDF has “revealed examples that show how Hamas endangers Palestinian civilians. Hamas launches attacks from within population centers towards population centers.

“The whole world must see this crime against humanity. Israel will operate with precision and force against terror targets, and defend the citizens of the State of Israel.”
