Unilever posts $26 Billion in losses since Boycotting of Judea and Samaria

Unilever’s stock has plunged 20.7% in the six months since it informed Avi Singer, the owner of Ben & Jerry’s Israel, that his contract was over unless he stopped selling the company’s ice cream in Judea and Samaria.

That amounts to a $26 billion loss, according to Channel 12 News, which first reported on the story. Losses amounted due to numerous factors including failing to reach profit targets.

“It doesn’t pay to boycott Israel,” tweeted Israeli Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked in response to the news of Unilever’s loss, quoting the book of Genesis: “I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you.”

In addition to primary sources of profit losses, Unilever has also absorbed withdrawals of investments, holdings and pension funds by dozens of U.S. states who have anti-boycott laws in place, such as New York, Illinois and Texas.

“This is a tremendous boost to the dogged struggle I am waging these days against Unilever’s unfounded demand not to see ice cream in all parts of Israel,” said Singer, according to the report.

The ice-cream manufacturer announced in July that it would be ending sales of its ice cream in “occupied Palestinian territory.”

The decision sparked backlash both from the Israeli government and Jewish organizations worldwide, with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett stating that Ben & Jerry’s had “decided to brand itself as anti-Israel ice-cream.”

Bennett took the matter up with Unilever CEO Alan Jope, telling him on July 20 that the Jewish state was taking the move very seriously and warning that there would be “severe consequences. … [Israel] will take strong action against any boycott directed against its citizens.”

Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan announced the same day that he had written to 35 U.S. governors noting that the decision by Ben & Jerry’s violated individual states’ anti-BDS legislation.

Twitter Discriminates Against a Proud Jew!

Video Of The Week - The Big Lie of the BDS- https://tinyurl.com/34w6x9f9

For the full article by David Collier go to - https://david-collier.com/twitter/

Twitter discriminates against me because I am a proud, unapologetic Jew. If you are Jewish and active on the platform - Twitter probably discriminates against you too.

Twitter is a biased platform. We all know that. But their ability to influence goes a lot further than simply not banning antisemites. They also decide who to legitimise and who to refuse to give that credit to. As an example, Twitter have just turned me down as a candidate for verification for the third time.

Last year there was a Jewish boycott of Twitter because of the platform's unwillingness to take antisemitism seriously. Twitter provides a blatantly visible example of open discrimination - in which anti-Jewish racism is treated very differently. You can say almost anything about Jews on Twitter- yet Twitter rarely responds to complaints of antisemitism the way they would if the target was a different minority group. This blindness explains why antisemitism is so rampant on the platform.

When their own 'partners' point out their failings, Twitter cuts all contact - just as they did recently with the Campaign against Antisemitism. Through their inactivity and unwillingness to act, Twitter permit daily racist abuse against people like me.

But the non-banning or suspending of anti-Jewish racists is only one element of Twitter's multi-faceted discriminatory environment. 'Zionists' are errantly seen as 'right wing' and the Twittersphere leans 'progressive' left - which means openly unapologetic Zionists are disfavoured on the platform. It is a shifting Overton window. As right-wing voices are cut more frequently, and for lesser crimes, than left-wing voices - what constitutes the middle ground, slowly, but consistently moves further left. Eventually what was once a centrist opinion becomes right-wing, and what was centre-right is then viewed as an extremist position- and those promoting it become vulnerable to censorship or expulsion. In such a manipulated test-tube, everyone who does not conform to the progressive mindset - is standing in quicksand.

I've been active against antisemitism and extremism for over two decades - but only turned to publicly associating with my own research with the start of this blog in 2014.

Being a front-line soldier has a cost though - and I became a figure of hate for the other side. My name was trashed in their toxic journals - I am sent death threats and obscene messages almost daily, my website is constantly under attack - and I have been physically assaulted -twice- on London's streets.

From permitting abuse against me, to refusing to treat me as it does others - Twitter discriminates against me because I am a proud, unapologetic Jew.

UK BOYCOTTS Durban IV

Senior government source confirm 'serious concerns' over the UN-organised event's history which has targeted Israel and faced claims of anti-Semitism

The UK government is finally set to announce that it will boycott the forthcoming Durban IV conference in New York over “serious concerns” about the event’s past issues over anti-Semitism and anti-Israel hatred.

A senior government source confirmed to Jewish News that Britain will join the likes of United States, Canada and Australia in avoiding September’s 20th anniversary of the World Conference against Racism.

The UNESCO organised event had previously been blighted with one-sided attacks on Israel including in 2001 draft resolution which likened Zionism to “racism.”

The Jewish Leadership Council, Board of Deputies and the Conservative Friends of Israel groups have been amongst those to write to Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab in recent months urging the UK to boycott the event.

Jewish News understands that Prime Minister Boris Johnson was made aware of widespread objections to UK participation at Durban IV during a meeting with Jewish communal organisations last month.

The PM is believed to have taken up the issue again following the May 20th meeting.

The source also confirmed there was “zero support” for UK participation at the event amongst the current government cabinet.

But there has been concern that the Foreign Office had up until now been “dragging its heels” over an official announcement on the UK boycott.

A letter sent jointly by the JLC and the Board to the Foreign Secretary warned that despite being known as a conference against racism Durban “is remembered by the international Jewish community as a “hostile showcase for open anti-Semitism.”

It noted that the infamous anti-Semitic forgery Protocols of the Elders of Zion had been distributed within the conference venue and during Durban 11 the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had claimed Israel was founded on the “pretext of Jewish suffering.”

On April 20, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said the UK would “obviously” attend September’s UN General Assembly, when asked by Chipping Barnet MP Theresa Villers about the Durban IV event.

But he then added the government “will not support any partisan or political attacks on Israel” and he said he wished to “reassure her” that” the Government are absolutely crystal clear in our condemnation of and opposition to any and all forms of antisemitism.”

The crossbench peer Baroness Deech also pressed Minister of State Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon on whether the UK planned to particiapate in September’s UN General Assembly’s commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the World Conference Against Racism.

Lord Amad said that while the UK was committed to combatting racism “some of the antisemitic actions and speeches in and around the Third World Conference against Racism and its various follow-up events gave rise to serious concerns.”

The peer added “we will consider UK attendance in the light of developments between now and the commemoration event, including the likelihood of any recurrence.”

Last month a spokesperson for the Canadian government confirmed: “Canada is concerned that the Durban Process has and continues to be used to push for anti-Israel sentiment and as a forum for antisemitism. That is why we do not plan to attend or participate in events surrounding the 20th anniversary of the Durban Declaration and Program of Action.”

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison also confirmed: “We will not associate Australia with one-sided and contentious language that singles out Israel or an event that champions such language.”

The conference is scheduled for September 22 in New York.

Jewish News has approached the FCO for comment on the UK’s decision to also boycott the event.

Newly Formed Arab Council Decries BDS

Video Of The Week - Arab-Israelis Combat BDS - https://tinyurl.com/vtsoc4m

From “Jewish Journal” By Jenni Frazer, Nov 26, 2019

On a cold Tuesday morning, in an anonymous west London hotel, a little bit of history was made.

It’s not unusual to see veiled or head-scarved women in this area, or prosperous men gathering in the Millennium Gloucester hotel’s lobby, all obviously Middle Eastern in origin. But it is almost certainly the first time that the men and women from the Arab world, gathering in this hotel, had such striking things to say about their countries’ fractured relationships with Israel and Jews — not least condemning the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movements — and how to go about mending these broken bridges.

Each of the participants had been invited by the incentive of the U.S.-based Center for Peace Communications (CPC), whose board of directors is headed by veteran Middle East peace negotiator Dennis Ross. The CPC describes itself as “a group of Americans who believe that security and prosperity in the Middle East and North Africa require a peace between peoples.”

No Israelis were present because some of the delegates could have been subjected to prosecution in their home countries for the “crime” of normalizing relations. It is clearly  a civil initiative in which no government had a hand, but the views expressed are bound to resonate throughout the Middle East.

Without a doubt, many of those present were taking a real risk in attending the conference. Two important religious figures, Hassen Chalghoumi, a Paris-based Tunisian cleric, and Lebanese imam Saleh Hamed, each had faced serious personal security issues, including death threats, in order to attend.

Others — who work in arts or media — are frequently at odds with the public pronouncements taken by their governments. The views expressed — and the reason for the invitations — have been aired in private and behind closed doors for the past several years. What made this conference so different was that for the first time, the radical opinions were being expressed in public.

Two opening presentations electrified the listeners: one from the urbane Muhammed Anwar el-Sadat, nephew of the late president who signed the first peace treaty with Israel; and the other, a passionate address by former Kuwaiti information minister  Sami Abdul-Latif Al-Nisf, outlining the “mistakes” made by the Arab world in dealing with the Jewish state.

Sadat’s analysis does not let Israel off the hook in the way it is perceived by Egyptian citizens. He cited what he calls human rights infractions and continuing sporadic violence against Palestinians, saying, “It is fair to conclude that most Egyptians resent Israel, doubt its credibility and find it hard to trust. Not all of these attitudes are fair-minded and based on actual Israeli misdeeds, but enough are to credit the sentiment.”

However, he added in a passage rarely heard anywhere except in Israel, that “the revived tendency toward demonizing Israelis and Jews in general in Egypt” needs to look at the role of the Egyptian media.

Sadat said, “Television shows and newspapers of all persuasions continuously depict Jews as inherently evil. Using their influence, Egyptian media, backed by the government, have installed fear and paranoia in the heads of the population, and have driven a wedge between the populations of the two countries.”

The presentation by Kuwait’s Al-Nisf, was a coruscating litany of “mistakes” committed by the Arab world in its dealings with Israel. The former minister, who lives in Kuwait City, gave a no-holds-barred presentation. Many of his targets overturned what have been conventional arguments in the Arab world for years as to why the Israel-Palestinian conflict had not been resolved.

Al-Nisf, whose chocolate-brown, flat leather cap seemed to lend extra vehemence to his speech, had plenty to condemn. It was, he said, “a mistake to insist on Israel’s being a racist apartheid state when it clearly is not. At the beginning of their immigration to Palestine, Jews did not treat Arabs as whites treated the indigenous peoples of America, South Africa and Rhodesia. There have never been segregated public facilities in Israel, nor any question of basic democratic rights being denied to Arab citizens of Israel. Enough of this ridiculous charade.”
Palestinians, he said, had made “a huge mistake” in focusing “labor activity on the dissemination of hate speech instead of investing in professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers and teachers.”

He warned: “It is better to raise peaceful and educated Arab generations that have no problem with Israel, and who may even prefer to study in Israeli universities and get treatment in Israeli hospitals, than it is to raise hateful, frustrated people who will wreak violence and harm in their own societies.”

The Arab world, he said, “cannot achieve the regional integration we need unless we first put aside the Arab-Israeli conflict, and we cannot do that until we stop thinking about it in a zero-sum mode. This would be no favor to ‘the Jews.’ This would be a favor to ourselves.”
Palestinian peace activist and academic Mohammed Dajani, who shocked the Arab world by taking a group of his students from Al-Quds University to Auschwitz in 2014 — and lost his job as a result — was once a member of Fatah who went to study in the United States. “Even in America, I avoided Jews” and was “totally against any interaction with Jews,” he said. But he dramatically changed his mind when his father was treated in an Israeli hospital for cancer. He was not treated as an Arab or a Muslim, he said, but “as a patient” at Jerusalem’s Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital.”

As more and more contributors spoke of their personal relations with Jews — and a large number regretted the loss of Jews in different Arab countries and called for their return — Dajani suggested that such personal recollections should be collected and published “throughout the Arab world.”

To benefit their countries, they said they wanted to “break the barrier of boycotting within the region — in particular, the Arab boycott of Israelis — which hindered partnership in technology, medicine, infrastructure, business, economy and the expanse of human aspiration.”

The boycott, they said, “also stymied hopes for peace between the Israeli and Palestinian peoples. Prevented from engaging either of the two peoples directly, Arabs were unable to cultivate ties that could have enabled us to foster conciliation and compromise on both sides. In sum, the boycott increased the suffering of our societies and weakened our capacities.”

More Questions And Answers

 Q.  Why do you say there is no peace partner?
    A.
•    Can you identify even one Arab country or political movement that hasn’t wanted to destroy Israel, and has recognized Israel’s right to exist, other than Morocco? Egypt and Jordan have signed peace agreements with Israel?
•     State the truth about Islamic responses to peace negotiations; the resolution since 1967 being “No Peace with Israel, No Negotiations with Israel, No recognition of Israel.” Several countries have sought peace and several emirates are now considering it, but that is not the case with the Palestinian Authority or Hamas.
•     Israel will join peace in the Middle East when there is peace in the Middle East. Reference to “the Middle East Conflict” rarely references all the wars in which Arabs are killing Arabs, but focuses on the conflict between Israel and residents of Gaza, Judea and Samaria, but that is minor in comparison. The conflicts in the Arab Muslim world have been that way for centuries!
•     Consider this—there is no peace among the Arab tribes that currently reside in Judea and Samaria—here is a solution for peace: http://www.palestinianemirates.com
•     End the Palestinian Authority and deal with 8 tribal groups as a solution to the conflict.

Q.  I disagree with Israel’s policies, so don’t I have the right to boycott Israel?
       A.
•     Would you give up your cellphone, medicines or other products invented or produced by Israel? See the hypocrisy if you won’t.
•     Do you agree with all Canadian government policies?
•     Do you boycott other countries which ignore human rights such as China, Cuba, Russia, Uganda (where it’s illegal to be LGBTQ), to name a few?
•     There is no apartheid in Israel and there is equality for women, minorities and LGBTQ folks in Israel so rather than support the annual Anti-Israel Apartheid Week which perpetuates lies, isn’t it time to create Arab Apartheid Month at universities?
•     To combat the profs who support BDS and spread lies and anti-Semitism, organize seniors to register and audit classes, then publish names of profs and courses that do spread lies.
•     What about the jobs created by Israeli companies that employ Arabs and do you realize that boycotts kill Arab jobs?

 Q.  How can you claim Anti-Zionism is Anti-Semitism when Israel has policies we don’t support
  A.
•     Does Canada have policies we don’t support? Does Canada have the right to exist? (Or any other country?)
•     Israelis have many disputes with the government so isn’t the matter their national concern and not ours?
•     To say Jews can’t defend themselves is anti-Semitism.
•     There is a Double standard, one should compare Israel to other democracies, and note it often fares better.
•     One should also hold the Arabs accountable, rather than having such low expectations of Muslim countries.
•     Neo/New anti-Semitism is anti-Zionist, blaming the only Jewish state for matters outside of its control, hate-mongering, character assassinating, demonizing and stereotyping.
•     Let’s “Take back Zionism” which is the positive view of Jewish nationalism in the Jewish homeland.
•     Read The Strange Death of Europe by Douglas Murray.
•     Multiculturalism should not be cultural relativism as not all cultures are equal.
•     Political Correctness = danger, read Israel: Reclaiming the Narrative by Barry Shaw and Eurabia by Bat Ye'or.

Q.  Isn’t Israel a racist – apartheid state given the Nation State Law?
      A.
•     No, the Nation State Law does not infringe on the civil and human rights of minorities.
•     Define apartheid which existed under state legislation in South Africa, denying rights to a majority of the citizens, whereas in Israel all residents are equal before the law and share in human rights under the law.
•     Name an Arab or Muslim state in which there is equality for all of its citizens?
•     The Nation State Law is not the only Basic Law; other Basic Laws protect the rights of all people in Israel.

Q.  Why is Israel attacking civilians in Gaza?
      A.
•     How many missiles would you allow on your city or town before reacting? Would any Country choose not to defend its own citizens when attacked? Are you aware that Hamas pays people to participate in their rallies and attacks and punishes those who don’t?

     Q.  How can Israel deny the Right of Return to Arabs who fled in 1948?
     A.
•     I support the right of Arabs to return to the Arab countries from which they came in the late 1800s and early 1900s when Jews began to settle in Palestine and created more opportunity and improved standard of living. Most came from neighboring lands that were designated countries after Partition, just as Israel was.
•     If the Palestinian Arabs deserved a state, why didn’t Jordan give them one during its 19 years of occupation of Judea and Samaria, which they renamed the West Bank. The Jordanians did not recognize the Arab inhabitants as a separate people during its 7000 days of occupation.
•     Jerusalem was never the capital of any state but the Jewish state, and it was never important to the Arabs until after the 1967 war, at which time the concept of a “Palestinian people” emerged.
•     According to the UN High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR), one can only be a refugee for a maximum of 10 years, but under UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine (UNRWA) there is no end to the time an Arab can claim refugee status and it’s an inherited status, thus after 70 years, even Arab Palestinians settled abroad are consider refugees.
•     Why have Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt denied citizenship, permanent residency status and access to jobs, education and services to Arabs who fled Israel 70+ years ago?
•     Why have over 889,000 Jews who were forcibly expelled from 8 Arab countries never been recognized as refugees or received any funds from the UN or its agencies?

Questions from either the Left or Right are often intended to undermine Israel’s right to exist or to defend herself, and they are often couched in bias, in ignorance or in oft repeated lies. We encourage people to read and practice responding. You will no longer feel impotent in defending Israel, the only Nation State of the Jewish People.

An Islamic Truth by Qanta A. Ahmed

Video Of The Week -futility and hypocrisy of the Israel boycotters - https://tinyurl.com/y2nda7uc

An Islamic Truth by Qanta A. Ahmed

For the full article go to “The Times Of Israel” - https://tinyurl.com/y563z3q4

Qanta A Ahmed an honorary Professor at Glasgow Caledonian University, a British physician has visited Israel, speaking at universities and research institutes around the country

Ahmed is opposed to the boycott against Israel, saying that the boycott movement attempts to vilify Israel. Ahmed is opposed to the occupation of the Palestinian Territories, but admits that she doesn't know how Israel can relinquish control over a region hosting "a virulent Jihadist ideology" and leaders calling for Israel's destruction. In 2010, Qanta wrote, "Call me an Accidental Zionist, if you must, but Eretz Yisrael is a vital shelter, an only shelter, from lethal, genocidal anti-Semitism... If we care for wider humanity at all, we must all be 'accidental' Zionists and want for the Jews, for the Israelis, what each Muslim already has for themselves: a future, a nation and a faith, secured."

Nowhere does the Quran make mention of the Muslims’ claim to the Holy Land. Instead, God reveals in the Quran that The Holy Land is designated for the followers of Moses. Because the Promised Land is theirs according to the Quran, only the followers of Moses may determine where their capital must lie.

It is this Islamic truth that political Islamists vehemently deny.

Those who masquerade as Muslims

Fast-forward 1,300 years to the 21sth Century and we find totalitarian Islamism – profoundly distinct from Islam – ensures a new anti-Semitism courses through the Muslim psyche.

Today’s Islamists cry ‘Islamophobia!’ when challenged on their ideology, arguing that calling it political totalitarianism amounts to anti-Muslim racism and bigotry. Indeed, the notion of Islamophobia is becoming so powerful a social construct that it is chilling public discourse even for Muslims who dare expose Islamism.

This outcry is not confined to Muslims but is spread throughout the wider world, as many glorify Islamists as a persecuted religious minority rather than the totalitarians they are.

In the process, those naïve of Islamism condemning the designation of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital (in the belief they are advocating for Palestinians), become willing instruments for an explicitly fascist ideology, an Islamism that seeks not an accommodation, or parallel statehood to Israel, but its figurative and literal annihilation.

In the Palestinian territories, as in many Muslim majority societies, Islamism is effectively ‘the other occupier’ -– confining freedom of thought, critical analysis and educated scrutiny of Islam.

It’s time Muslims examined this other occupation of Islam by Islamism. In the guise of advocating for the Palestinian cause, many conceal or find socially accepted release for rabid yet sanitized anti-Semitism.
One Muslim commentator echoed the sentiments of millions of Muslims around the world when he dismissed the Quranic declaration of Israel as the promised land for the Jews as irrelevant claiming, “The Quran is not a historical document.”
This is how far we Muslims have strayed.

This renunciation of what the Quran tells Muslims is an uncontestable truth today. Theological destiny for the Jews is at the root of the Middle East conflict; whether as Jews it is pursued, or by Muslims, it is denied.

The Holy Land which God has written for you

The Israel-Palestinian conflict is neither about politics nor Zionism, neither about borders nor land or water. It is not even about the fate of statehood for the Palestinians. It is about the central denial of an Islamic truth: the denial that the Jews have rights to the land.

Yet today, millions of Muslims, under the influence of Islamism, pursue lethal hatred of Jews, abandoning the Quran itself. 2006 Pew research confirmed anti-Jewish sentiment remains overwhelmingly centred in predominantly Muslim Majority countries.

A genocidal hatred

Lacking critical knowledge, and access to Islam free of Islamism, faith-illiterate Muslims (including the Middle East and North Africa Region and Western Europe) accept anti-Semitism as Islamic creed. All too often, the rest of the world follows suit.

Islamists use Holocaust denial to garner grassroots support for delegitimizing Israel and to recruit Islamist “foot-soldiers” who are terrorist collaborators or operators. Because the Holocaust “wasn’t real,” Islamists argue, the state of Israel was created on “false pretenses.” Seeking de-legitimization with a view to full destruction of Israel quickly gains legitimacy.

Modern day Islamism – birthed by the Muslim Brothers in 1928 Egypt — has since incorporated a new anti-Semitism, a lethal genocidal hatred for all Judaica, all Jewry and Israel as a central tenet of belief. This blinds Muslims with a religionized anti-Semitism that prevents us from seeing that Islam has mandated Israel and its capital for the Jews.
As Muslims, we can be blind no more. Islam demands, we must see what is written.

IF ISRAEL DISAPPEARS.....

Mudar Zahran (born 19 April 1973) is a Jordanian Palestinian politician and the secretary general of the Jordanian Opposition Coalition. Zahran lives in the United Kingdom,[1] where he sought political asylum after being indicted by a Jordanian military court for four separate charges against him, relating to what it labels as incitement against the ruling political regime of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, calling for changing the basic conditions of society and using a long tongue against the king and undermining an official entity.[2] In addition to damaging the country's image and inciting hatred

By Mudar Zahran, 13.7.2015

Full article: Israel Hayom, http://tinyurl.com/qyr4ykz

We Arabs have wasted seven decades of our existence awaiting Israel's demise. It is time to think of the future, and whether Israel's "disappearance" should be our ultimate wish. Since 1948, we Arabs have been taught that all we need to do is get rid of the Jewish state, and ‎everything else will go well after that.

Our dictators took full advantage of this idea. Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser locked up and executed his opposition members ‎using his famous excuse: "No voices are to be allowed except for those for the war with ‎Israel." Iraqi President Saddam Hussein adopted the Palestinian flag and had it ‎printed, distributed and flown alongside his own flag, and even said, "Palestine and Iraq share the same ‎identical cause."

In short, we Arabs have put 70 years of our existence on hold while awaiting that ‎‎"glorious day" when we defeat Israel and "feed the Jews to the fish."
But that day did not come, nor does ‎it seem to be coming, as Jordanian opposition figure Emad Tarifi once told me: "It seems the fish in ‎the sea are not betting on us feeding them Jews." In addition, we Arabs have given our dictators carte blanche to impoverish, terrorize, oppress and ‎destroy us all in the name of "the great Arab struggle to end the Zionist entity."

The outcome of this has ‎been clear:

While Israel made 10 new breakthroughs in cancer and cardiac treatments in the last two years alone, we Arabs developed new execution methods. The latest is death by drowning in a cage, as ‎shown in an Islamic State group video two weeks ago.

We Arabs have wasted seven decades of our existence awaiting Israel's demise.
It is time to think of the future, and whether Israel's "disappearance" should be our ‎ultimate wish.

Being the son of two Palestinian-Jordanian refugees, I find myself inclined to fear for the future. Regardless of my stance toward Israel, I have to think:
What would happen if, one day, Israel were to disappear? While it does not seem feasible, it is the day around which entire Arab political, social and economic systems revolve.

It is not only Arabs who want Israel gone. There are others who seek the same, for ‎example anti-Semites in the West. Just last week, neo-Nazis marched in London with swastikas and the Palestinian flag. The organizer of the march claimed it was a protest "by all of those ‎who have suffered because of Israel."

There are groups calling for a boycott of Israel "for ‎the sake of the Palestinian people."

There are countries whose entire foreign policy seems to revolve around opposition to Israel.

We ‎Palestinians might have believed that these groups and countries actually care about us, but they take no interest in the fate of the 150,000 Palestinians being starved to death in Syria's Yarmouk refugee camp, nor in an estimated ‎‎5.8 million Palestinians in Jordan, as indicated by a U.S. Embassy cable, who live as second-‎class citizens and are banned from government jobs and any form of state benefits, while paying full taxes.

If these Israel-haters got their wish to see Israel disappear, what would ‎happen?

First, Israel is the only reason Iran does not yet have nuclear weapons. Iran could buy the ‎technology to produce them, or could learn it quickly the way Pakistan did.
Why has Iran been slow in ‎doing so? Because it learned a lesson from the experience of Saddam's Osirak reactor, which Israeli jets reduced to rubble in 1981. Then, almost everyone, including George H. W. Bush who was vice president of the United States at that time, were furious ‎with Israel's move.

But 10 years later, when the U.S. fought to liberate Kuwait, ‎the situation would have been totally different if Saddam had kept his nuclear program. And the only reason ‎he did not, was Israel.

Further, Iran already controls at least a third of Iraq and its resources through a pro-Iranian ‎regime.

If Israel were to disappear, Iran would extend its influence into Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain ‎the next day, as it would not have to fear an Israeli reaction. Iran could then bring the world to its knees by reducing oil ‎production.

Iran is not the only evil power in the Middle East: We also have Islamic State, which has now spread across ‎Iraq, Syria, Sinai and Libya, with clear ambitions to enter Jordan. Islamic State has not entered Jordan yet, and this is not ‎because of any fear of the Jordanian army. After all, the Global Firepower website ranks Jordan's army at ‎the same level as the Iraqi army, which Islamic State has defeated many times.

Islamic State does not dare enter Jordan for one reason only: its fear that Israeli jets would catch up with it 15 minutes later.

If Israel were to disappear and be replaced by a Palestinian state, the Palestinians would most likely end up ‎with another Arab dictatorship that oppresses them and reduces them to poverty. We have partially ‎seen that with the Palestinian Authority and the "liberated" areas it rules. I regularly visit the West ‎Bank and have interviewed scores of Palestinians there. I can confirm that, as much as they hate ‎Israel, they still openly yearn for the days when it administered the West Bank. As one Palestinian told me, ‎‎"We prayed to God to give us mercy and rid us of Israel; later, we found out that God had ‎given us mercy when Israel was here."

To those Arabs, Muslims, Westerners and others insisting that Israel must be erased from face of the ‎planet, I say:

Don't bet on it, as Israel is becoming stronger every day through its democracy and innovation, while Arab countries are getting weaker through dictatorship and chaos. And be careful ‎what you wish for, because if you were to get it, you too would most likely disappear, unless you ‎yearn to be ruled by Iran or Islamic State.

In short, if the day were to come when Israel falls, Jordan, Egypt and many others would fall, too, and ‎Westerners would be begging Iran for oil.

We can hate Israel as much as we like, but we must realize that without it, we too would be ‎gone
.
